Wednesday, September 11

35th Anniversary Southern Heritage Classic Exhibition September 11 – February 28. The National Civil Rights Museum will present a special exhibition in honor of the Black collegiate football experience and long tradition entitled, The Southern Heritage Classic: Celebrating 35 Years of an HBCU Memphis Tradition. The exhibition features 120 artifacts that tell the story of Fred Jones Jr., the founder of the Southern Heritage Classic, and the participating schools.

Friday, September 13

Classic College & Career Fair 8:30 a.m., Memphis Sports & Events Center, 995 Early Maxwell Blvd in Liberty Park. Presented by the City of Memphis Office of Youth Services. Regional college and university representatives as well as businesses will be available to provide information about attending college and employment opportunities. Classic Coaches Luncheon presented by FedEx Noon, Renasant Convention Center/Grand Ballroom. A Classic salute to UAPB head football coach Alonzo Hampton and TSU head football coach Eddie George. Special guest speaker: Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris. Invitation only.

Classic Parade 9 a.m., Presented by the Orange Mound Community Parade Committee as a salute to the Southern Heritage Classic.
